Competition: Create digital content that showcases your research at the IKC & Regener8 Conference 2018

Date: April 27, 2018

Show how your work in Medical Technologies research improves patient lives and supports a growing sector using digital or social media, and you could win £100.

Digital content is one of the most powerful ways to disseminate your research, and allows you to engage with a wider audience.

Submissions are invited from researchers from the medical technology community to showcase researchers’ activities in a format suitable for public and patient engagement.

We encourage the submission of any of the following (as a guide):

  • Video/Vlog (max 2 mins)

For example, a blog in video format, or a film using a go-pro.

See an example here: https://youtu.be/dZvxwLi4y1E

  • Photo story

For example, an Instagram feed of pictures taken throughout a project

  • Twitter series/’moment’

For example, a series of Tweets from your account, or around a specific hashtag.

  • Infographic poster

For example, an easy to understand and visual representation of information or data that is shared on social media channels.

There are lots of brilliant templates for these in Canva that are free to use and adapt.

  • Written article/blog (~500 Word count)

For example – a blog post you have written for a website or your own social media such as Linked In, or an article for a print publication.

  • what type of content you created/ plan to create
  • How you’d like to show it at the conference (large print on poster board, on a flat screen etc)
  • How you disseminated the content (or plan to disseminate the content)

The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday 25th May.

You will be required to provide your final content by Friday 15th June.

Final notes…

The acceptance of a submission assumes you are able to attend the conference and have registered.  As this event is free to attend and programmes including your name will be disseminated, any non-attendances will be raised with supervisors.

Presenters should make themselves available during the conference break times for networking and to discuss their submissions with the delegates.  We may wish to use the content submitted on our website and on our digital channels after the competition – credit will be given to the authors.

Content should reflect the core aim of Regener8 and the Medical Technologies IKC.  The Medical Technologies IKC works to reduce the risk and uncertainty associated with new technologies, with a strategic focus on: orthopaedic replacement; regenerative devices; dentistry, oral and maxillofacial; cardiovascular; soft tissue repair; and opthalmics.

Submissions should be checked and approved by your supervisor/manager in relation to intellectual property and sensitive information.
